Proxy is a virtual or physical device with a specifically assigned IP through which your requests are being processed instead of your personal Internet Service Provider’s (ISP) IP. It provides an alternate between your personal device and the destination server. Thus, the destination server of your request will process it as if it was coming directly from the proxy server, hiding your personal IP and other sensitive data that is attached with sending a request.

Not only proxies provide a level of protection for your personal data; they also have a number of additional uses:

  • Block-free data gathering;

  • Geo-sensitive account management;

  • Safe ads testing and AdTech fraudulence prevention;

  • Assistance in SEO research and demographic targeting;

  • Avoiding local website and account restrictions, CAPTCHAs, IP blocks, etc.

In essence, proxies are a valuable tool for data analysts, SEO and AdTech professionals, online businesses, and a good security implement for online work in general.
