HTTP/SOCKS5 are two different types of protocols used for routing internet traffic through a proxy server. HTTP protocol is better used for web surfing as it works the best with loading web content; however, it is more easily caught in firewalls, and it transmits traffic in a non-encrypted form.

โ€‹SOCKS5 might load web content slower, but it allows for a wider range of traffic processing, including online gaming, VoIP, TCP and UDP. Additionally, SOCKS5 allows for encrypting traffic, providing a better level of security.

Overall, if you need a proxy primarily for web-related activities, an HTTP proxy is sufficient. However, if you require a more versatile and secure proxy solution for a range of applications, SOCKS5 might be the preferable option.
