Gsocks Proxy Extension is a convenient tool for managing all your proxies in one place. You can avoid going through complicated setups for various systems by storing all the proxy details within your browser. To prevent geo-restrictions, blocks, and bans, follow these steps to set up Gsocks Proxy Extension.
1) Install Gsocks Proxy Extension from Chrome Web Store. It functions not only with Chrome but also in other browsers based on Chromium.
2) Once installed, click on the extension icon >> + Add New Proxies to add your existing proxy ports to the list.
3) In the new window Manage proxies, you have two ways to add proxies:
a. Manually via the + Add new proxy button
b. Automatically via + Add proxy list
3a) If you chose the manual option, you will see a new empty form in which you can add the proxy details you have. You will need to add the information in the next fields accordingly:
Name - the name of your port; is not relevant for functioning of the port, needed mainly for identification.
Proxy IP and port - the Proxy IP filed requires either your proxy's IP or the server's address, and the Port field needs one of the active ports for your proxy user. The drop-down next to Proxy IP allows you to choose either HTTP or more secure HTTPS automatically.
Credentials - add the sensitive details to Username and Password fields accordingly.
Make sure to save the details by clicking on Save changes.
3b) When you click on + Add proxy list, you will open a new window where you can insert one or more proxy details in the format:
server.address:port:username:password
Server.address - server of the proxy in question. Server address can be replaced with server's IP when necessary.
Port - active port for your proxy user.
Username and password - sensitive details of your proxy user in question.
Click on Add to import the list of proxies to the extension. You can update Name of the proxies after it has been added.
You can add a list of up to 80 proxies simultaneously. Note that, at the moment, you can manage up to 80 proxies in Gsocks Proxy Extension in total.
Make sure to save the details by clicking on Save changes.
4) Now, the saved proxies will be visible and functional in your proxy list.
You can click on the Gsocks Proxy Extension icon in your extensions' list and activate a proxy you need by clicking on the Connect button.
To double-check whether the connection is working, click on Check my IP and you will be directed to the Gsocks IP checker. If you see the chosen location for your proxy, you confirmed that the connection is active.
Now you have set up everything successfully. You can enjoy the convenience of managing the usage of your proxies in one click - with Gsocks Proxy Extension!
